Goal
Finish as fast as possible while meeting a physiological target.
Model & target
Core and Pro plans use Normalized Power™ as the only optimization target today.
You specify the NP target (W); the solver shapes segment/group power to meet it.
Degrees of freedom
Segments vs Groups: segments maximize theoretical optimality; groups trade a touch of optimality for simpler execution of the pacing strategy. Similar segments will be grouped in the pacing strategy and you get only one power target for each group.
Manual power: any segment/group set to manual is fixed; the optimizer won’t change it.
For grouped segments you can decide whether the group power is optimized (default) or fixed manually.
Inputs that matter
Rider Setup (CdA/weight/positions speed range), Course (slope/surface/segments), Wind (forecast/manual).
Segments and Grouping: Meaningful segments and groups are important for the quality and practicality of the resulting pacing strategy.
Iteration & versions
Rerun with changed NP, wind, grouping, or speed ranges and save as a version.
Use versions to compare “Calm vs Windy”, “Conservative vs Aggressive NP”, “Segment vs Grouped” strategies.
