Besides the course-specific pacing and equipment optimizations, the platform offers two quick standalone tools. Open them via Tools in the top bar, or Use standalone tools under Quick access on the start page.
Get the tyre pressure for the lowest rolling resistance.
Inputs
System weight: total weight of rider + bike + gear (kg or lbs).
Bike type: defines the weight distribution between front and rear wheel.
Speed [km/h]: your typical riding speed.
Surface: Smooth (new/smooth pavement), Normal (worn/rough pavement) or Rough (poor pavement, chipseal).
Tyre type: high performance race clincher tyre (e.g. Continental GP 5000 S or similar).
Tyre width front / rear [mm]: we recommend measuring the width of the tyre when it is mounted on your wheels, because the real width can differ from the labelled width.
Tube type: currently Tubeless.
Click Optimize to get the recommended Front and Rear pressure. Switch between bar and psi and between kg and lbs with the toggles at the top.
Check the manufacturer's pressure limits for your tyre and wheel and stay within those limits.
Get the fastest wheel setup for your type of ride.
Inputs
System weight and Bike type (the bike type defines the bike weight, the reference CdA and which wheel/tyre combinations are valid).
Power level: Low, Medium, High or Custom (enter your own Power [W]). This is the average power you're planning to ride at.
Skill level: Beginner, Intermediate or Expert. Your bike-handling skill and confidence with high-profile wheels in wind.
Wind conditions: Calm/Light, Medium or Strong, plus Gusty if the wind is gusty.
Terrain: Flat, Rolling hills, Mountainy or Climb.
Tyre front / Tyre rear: choose a tyre width, or select optimize to get a recommendation.
Click Optimize to get the recommended front and rear wheel (and tyres). If the wind conditions and your skill level call for it, the tool recommends a more stable setup instead of the absolute fastest one ("This is a conservative recommendation due to the selected wind conditions").
Only ride rim depths you know you can handle in the expected wind conditions. When in doubt, go for lower profile rims, especially in the front.
On some plans you can click Set as reference for comparison, change your setup (e.g. different pressures or wheels) and click Calculate to see the difference to the reference: the change in power loss for tyre pressures, or the time per 100 km for wheels.
The tools give general recommendations for your type of ride. For a comparison on your actual race course with your rider setup, wind forecast and pacing, use an Equipment Optimization — Concept Overview.
