New Rider Setup

A Rider Setup captures your bike and rider positions so the optimizer can simulate realistic speed, power, and time. Create one setup per real-world configuration you plan to use (TT vs road, different gearings, etc.).

Before you start

Create a setup

  1. Open Rider Setups
Left sidebar → Rider SetupsNew Rider Setup (top-right).

  2. Confirm Rider Profile link
At the top you’ll see your profile card (name, kg, cm (or lbs, ft)). To change it, go to account settings.

  3. Select your bike type (fixed options)
In Bike Type dropdown choose one option:

    • Triathlon

    • Time trial

    • Road race

    • Road endurance

  4. Enter bike weight
    Field: Bike Weight [kg].

  5. Review positions & aero table
Columns: Position, Handlebar type, CdA [m²], Speed range [km/h].

    • Road examples: Position 1 – Hoods, Position 2 – Drops.

    • Tri/TT examples: Position 1 – Base Bars, Position 2 – Aerobars.

    • CdA [m²] is estimated automatically from your bike type and rider height.

    • Speed range [km/h] indicates in which speed range the rider is in which position. When the speed of the rider drops below the defined threshold speed, they will switch the position from the more-aero position (Position 2) to the less-aero position (Position 1).

  6. Customize (optional)
Toggle Custom positions to edit fields manually. When ON, you can type into CdA and Threshold speed.

Note: The behaviour when turning Custom positions OFF after editing is not yet defined. To avoid losing your manual values, keep Custom positions ON once you’ve entered custom numbers, or verify the fields before leaving the page.

Toggle Custom gearing to edit the gearing manually. When ON, you can type in your chainring(s) and cassette range.

Note: The behaviour when turning Custom gearing OFF after editing is not yet defined. To avoid losing your manual values, keep Custom gearing ON once you’ve entered custom numbers, or verify the fields before leaving the page.

  7. Name your setup
Field: Name this Rider Setup * (e.g., “Road – deep wheels”, “TT – race day”).

  8. Save
Click Save (bottom-right). You’ll return to the Rider setups list.

Recommended starting ranges (no hard validation yet)

There is currently no field validation. Use these guideposts to avoid unrealistic inputs:

If you’re unsure, keep the estimated values, run an optimization, then check Sensitivities on the results screen to see which parameter moves your time most.
