Equipment Optimization — Setup Guide

General flow: Course → Wind → Pacing → Rider Setups & Equipment

Create a new Equipment optimization

  1. Go to OptimizationsNew optimization ▾ → Equipment.

  2. Give it an Optimization name (e.g., Wheel test – Roth).
The wizard shows four steps: Course, Wind, Pacing, Rider Setups & Equipment.

Course — Load your course

Click Next.

Wind — Add wind data (with bulk actions)

Groups & Power — Define the fixed power you’ll simulate with

Equipment comparison uses a fixed pacing table (not an optimizer). All rider/equipment setups will be simulated using this same power plan.

You can also create an equipment optimization based on a pacing optimization result, where the segment powers will be pre-filled with the powers of the pacing strategy.

Setups & Equipment — Choose what to benchmark

You need at least two rider setups, or one rider setup with multiple wheel options, to enable Run optimization.

A) Comparison type

B) Add or load a rider setup

Tip: For clean A/B tests, keep the same rider profile and CdA across setups and vary only wheels/tyres—unless you explicitly want to compare different bikes/positions.

C) (For wheel comparisons) Add wheel options for that setup

  1. Click + Add wheel option

  2. Select front/rear wheels and tyres and confirm with Add.

  3. The first wheel/tyre setup you add will be treated as the baseline. Use another wheel/tyre setup as the baseline by clicking the Set button.

  4. Remove any unnecessary wheel/tyre setups with the trash button.

D) (For rider setup comparisons) Compare multiple rider setups

Run optimization becomes available once you have:
